Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CD206-targeted CAR T-cells (also known as anti-CD206 CAR T-cells) are an investigational chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy designed to target and eliminate CD206-expressing (CD206+) M2-like macrophages. CD206 (macrophage mannose receptor 1) is highly expressed on immunosuppressive and profibrotic macrophages that drive tissue remodeling and fibrotic activation in diseases like systemic sclerosis (SSc). Developed by researchers at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth and Celdara Medical, these CAR T-cells aim to selectively deplete these pathogenic macrophages to reduce dermal fibrosis, restore dermal white adipose tissue (DWAT), and suppress fibrotic and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs.
