Immugenia's CD22 CAR-HSC is a preclinical-stage cell therapy being developed for the treatment of Pre-B Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (Pre-B ALL). This novel approach involves genetically modifying hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) with a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) directed against the CD22 antigen using the proprietary SPICA (Specific Promoters for Immune Cell Activity) technology. Unlike conventional CAR-T therapies that use mature T cells, this platform leverages the self-renewal and differentiation capacity of HSCs to continuously generate both CAR-T and CAR-NK cells in vivo. This 'one immunotherapy for a lifetime' strategy aims to provide persistent anti-tumor surveillance and a more controlled immune response, potentially reducing the incidence of cytokine release syndrome and neurotoxicity while addressing the limitations of cell exhaustion and leukemia relapse.
