CD276-targeted chimeric antigen receptor T-cells are an adoptive cell therapy designed to treat various cancers. This therapy involves genetically engineering a patient's T-cells to express a Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR) that specifically recognizes CD276, also known as B7-H3. CD276 is a tumor-associated antigen frequently overexpressed on the surface of numerous solid tumors and some hematological malignancies, while having limited expression in normal tissues. Upon encountering cancer cells expressing CD276, the engineered CAR T-cells become activated, leading to their proliferation and potent cytotoxic activity, thereby selectively eliminating the tumor cells. This approach aims to harness the immune system to target and destroy cancer cells. Preclinical studies have shown efficacy in various cancers, and clinical trials are underway for certain indications.
