Overview

The CD3-KLH bispecific antibody is a research-grade T-cell engaging bispecific antibody used primarily as a negative control in studies evaluating T-cell redirecting therapies, such as those targeting BCMA. It is designed with one arm binding to the CD3 epsilon subunit of the T-cell receptor complex and the other arm binding to Keyhole Limpet Hemocyanin (KLH), a large, copper-containing protein derived from the giant keyhole limpet (*Megathura crenulata*). Because KLH is not expressed in mammalian tissues or tumors, this antibody allows researchers to distinguish between the effects of systemic T-cell activation or binding and the specific, target-dependent cytotoxicity induced by therapeutic bispecific antibodies. In preclinical models of multiple myeloma, it serves to establish a baseline for T-cell behavior and tumor progression in the absence of specific tumor-cell engagement.
