CD30-targeted autologous CAR-T cells refer to a class of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapies engineered to target the CD30 antigen (TNFRSF8), which is predominantly expressed on the surface of malignant cells in Hodgkin lymphoma and anaplastic large cell lymphoma. This autologous approach involves harvesting a patient's own T cells and genetically modifying them to express a CAR specific for CD30. Wuhan Boruida Biotechnology is one of the developers advancing this modality, with a specific candidate currently in Phase 1 clinical trials in China for relapsed or refractory CD30-positive hematologic malignancies. The therapy aims to provide a targeted cytotoxic response against tumor cells while minimizing impact on healthy tissues with low CD30 expression.
