CD33 SIR-T is a preclinical-stage cell therapy being developed by Angeles Therapeutics for the treatment of myeloid malignancies, such as acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The therapy utilizes the company's proprietary Synthetic Immune Receptor T-cell (SIR-T) platform. Unlike traditional Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR) T-cells, SIR-T cells are engineered with a synthetic receptor designed to more closely mimic the natural T-cell receptor (TCR) complex signaling architecture. This approach aims to provide improved sensitivity, enhanced persistence, and a more physiological immune response against cells expressing the CD33 antigen, a well-validated target in myeloid leukemias.
