Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CD35-EVs (CD35-positive extracellular vesicles) are podocyte-derived extracellular vesicles expressing complement receptor type 1 (CD35/CR1). Developed by Southeast University and Zhongda Hospital, these vesicles are being investigated for the treatment of sepsis-associated acute kidney injury (SA-AKI) and multi-organ injury. CD35-EVs are internalized by monocytes, where they directly bind to intracellular complement fragment C3b, thereby inhibiting alternative pathway-dependent complosome activation, reversing glycolytic reprogramming, and suppressing monocyte chemotaxis and infiltration into injured tissues.
