Overview

CD371-YSNVZ-IL18 CAR T cells is an investigational "armored" chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy designed to treat relapsed or refractory acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The therapy specifically targets C-type lectin domain family 12 member A (CLEC12A, also known as CD371 or CLL-1), an antigen highly expressed on AML blasts and leukemic stem cells but typically absent on healthy hematopoietic stem cells, thereby minimizing myelosuppressive side effects. These CAR T-cells are further engineered to secrete Interleukin-18 (IL-18), a proinflammatory cytokine intended to enhance the expansion, persistence, and anti-tumor efficacy of the T cells while modulating the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment. The "YSNVZ" designation refers to the specific binder or single-chain variable fragment (scFv) used to recognize the CD371 epitope.
