CD38.SSR-LAT177 is an investigational radiopharmaceutical developed by Ratio Therapeutics for the treatment of multiple myeloma. It consists of a small-molecule ligand designed to target CD38 (ADP-ribosyl cyclase 1), a cell surface protein highly expressed on malignant plasma cells. The ligand is conjugated to the beta-emitting radioisotope Lutetium-177 (177Lu) using Ratio's proprietary Trillium platform. This platform incorporates a tunable serum albumin-binding moiety that optimizes the drug's pharmacokinetics by extending its circulatory half-life and improving tumor uptake while facilitating rapid clearance from non-target tissues. Once bound to CD38 on the surface of cancer cells, the Lutetium-177 payload delivers localized ionizing radiation that induces DNA double-strand breaks and subsequent apoptosis of the malignant cells, providing a targeted therapeutic approach for patients with multiple myeloma.
