CD40.Pan.CoV (also known as EDC.Pan.CoV) is a broad-spectrum, protein-based pan-coronavirus subunit vaccine candidate. Developed by the Vaccine Research Institute (VRI) and EnnoDC (formerly LinKinVax), the vaccine utilizes a recombinant fusion protein modality consisting of an anti-CD40 monoclonal antibody linked to conserved T- and B-cell polyepitope regions from SARS-CoV-2 and other coronaviruses. By specifically targeting the CD40 receptor on dendritic cells, the vaccine aims to direct and enhance the immune response, potentially providing more durable and broader protection against various sarbecoviruses than current vaccines. It is currently being evaluated in a Phase I/IIa clinical trial (ANRS0640s LKV-PAN-01) as a booster dose in adults, administered subcutaneously with or without the adjuvant Hiltonol (poly-ICLC).
