Overview

CD564 is a synthetic small molecule belonging to the class of organic compounds known as benzophenones. Its chemical structure is defined as "6-(5,5,8,8-tetramethyl‑5‑‑‑‑‑‑⁄⁄⁄⁄⁄⁄tetrahydronaphthalene‑2‑carbonyl)naphthalene‑2-carboxylic acid." CD564 has been identified in virtual drug screening studies as a high-affinity ligand targeting the BRF2-TBP binding interface on the BRF2 protein. This suggests potential utility in modulating BRF2 function and possibly inhibiting cancer cell growth by interfering with transcriptional regulation pathways involving BRF2[1][2][5]. However—beyond computational and preclinical findings—there are no reports of clinical use or approval.
