Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CD69-targeted PET tracers are a class of diagnostic radiopharmaceuticals designed for non-invasive, real-time imaging of T-cell activation and immune responses in the tumor microenvironment. CD69 is an early activation marker of T cells, making it a highly sensitive biomarker for monitoring early immune activation following immunotherapy (such as immune checkpoint inhibitors). Preclinical candidates, such as the zirconium-89 labeled monoclonal antibody tracer 89Zr-DFO-CD69-Mb-7 (developed by researchers at Tongji Hospital, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and Beijing Cancer Hospital) and 89Zr-DFO-anti-CD69 (developed at the University of Pittsburgh), have demonstrated high affinity and specificity for CD69. These tracers enable longitudinal PET/CT imaging to visualize tumor-infiltrating activated T cells, allowing for early prediction of treatment response and differentiation between effective and ineffective immunotherapy regimens before changes in tumor size occur.
