Overview

CD7 CAR T-cell is a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy targeting the CD7 antigen, developed by Beijing GoBroad Hospital in collaboration with Shanghai YaKe Biotechnology. This cell-based biologic is designed to treat relapsed or refractory T-cell malignancies, specifically T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) and T-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma (T-LBL). The therapy is notable for its flexibility in cell sourcing, utilizing either autologous T cells from the patient or allogeneic T cells from a prior or new HLA-matched donor (donor-derived). This approach is particularly beneficial for patients with high leukemic burden or those who have failed previous hematopoietic stem cell transplantations (HSCT). The CAR T cells are engineered to recognize and eliminate CD7-positive malignant cells and are frequently used as a bridge to subsequent allogeneic HSCT to achieve long-term remission.
