**CD7-specific CAR gene-engineered T cells** is a nonproprietary, target-and-modality descriptor rather than one uniquely defined therapeutic product. It describes engineered T cells expressing a chimeric antigen receptor directed against **CD7**, an antigen commonly present on malignant T-cell populations. These products are being investigated for CD7-positive hematologic malignancies, particularly T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia and T-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma. Because CD7 is also expressed by normal T cells and NK cells, CD7-directed CAR-T development must address CAR-T fratricide; approaches have included CD7 gene disruption, intracellular CD7 retention or blockade, and selection or engineering of CD7-low effector cells.
