This investigational cell therapy consists of cord blood-derived natural killer (NK) cells engineered to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) targeting CD70. Developed by the Second Affiliated Hospital, School of Medicine, Zhejiang University, the therapy is designed to treat relapsed or refractory T-cell lymphoma (TCL) and acute myeloid leukemia (AML). CD70 is a surface protein overexpressed in various hematological malignancies but found at low levels in normal tissues, making it a viable target for immunotherapy. By utilizing NK cells instead of T cells, the therapy aims to provide potent anti-tumor activity while potentially reducing the risks of graft-versus-host disease (GvHD) and cytokine release syndrome (CRS). It is currently undergoing Phase 1 clinical evaluation for safety and efficacy.
