Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CD8-targeted nanobody-lipid nanoparticle (CD8-tLNP) is an innovative in vivo CAR-T cell generation platform developed by WestGene Biopharma in collaboration with West China Hospital of Sichuan University and Shanxi Provincial People's Hospital [POS0354]. The platform consists of lipid nanoparticles conjugated with human CD8-specific nanobodies (VHH) on their surface, encapsulating mRNA encoding chimeric antigen receptors (CARs), such as anti-CD19, anti-CD20, or anti-BCMA CAR mRNA. By targeting CD8+ T cells directly in vivo, the platform enables precise, transient, and repeatable programming of T-cell subsets without the need for ex vivo cell manipulation or lymphodepleting chemotherapy. It is being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials for B-cell malignancies (such as relapsed/refractory B-cell lymphoma) and autoimmune diseases (such as generalized myasthenia gravis in partnership with Cartesian Therapeutics).
