Overview

CD84-CD3 BiTE #05 is a bispecific T-cell engager (BiTE) designed for the treatment of acute myeloid leukemia (AML). It simultaneously targets CD84, a cell surface antigen highly expressed on AML blasts and leukemia stem cells, and CD3 on T cells. By binding both targets, the antibody facilitates the formation of an immunological synapse, redirecting T-cell-mediated cytotoxicity specifically toward leukemic cells. CD84 is a particularly attractive target in AML because it is minimally expressed on normal hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs), potentially offering a wider therapeutic window compared to antigens like CD33 or CD123. Developed by researchers at Zhejiang University and Shanghai Symray Biopharma, candidate #05 was prioritized from a panel of nine bispecific antibodies due to its superior T-cell activation and potent anti-leukemic activity in preclinical models.
