Overview

CD886 is a small molecule nitric oxide donor being developed by Pelthos Therapeutics (formerly LNHC) and its subsidiary, Channel Therapeutics, for the treatment of neuropathic pain. The drug utilizes the proprietary NITRICIL™ technology platform, which involves nitric oxide-based chemistry to modulate pain signaling. CD886 is currently in Phase 3 clinical development for Idiopathic Peripheral Neuropathy (IPN) and Erythromelalgia (EM). It has been granted Fast Track designation by the FDA for the treatment of Erythromelalgia. The therapeutic approach focuses on the controlled release of nitric oxide to address the underlying pathophysiology of peripheral nerve pain, although specific downstream molecular targets have not been publicly disclosed.
