Overview

CD99 siRNA is a research-grade small interfering RNA (siRNA) reagent designed to silence or knock down the expression of the CD99 gene (also known as MIC2, 12E7, or E2 antigen) through RNA interference (RNAi). CD99 is a cell surface glycoprotein that plays a critical role in various biological processes, including cell adhesion, migration, apoptosis, and oncogenic signaling. In preclinical oncology research, CD99 siRNA is used as a laboratory tool to investigate the role of CD99 in tumor progression and metastasis, particularly in Ewing's sarcoma, glioblastoma, osteosarcoma, and melanoma. Studies have demonstrated that CD99 knockdown can suppress tumor cell proliferation and modulate differentiation pathways. While experimental delivery methods such as immunonanoparticles have been explored in animal models, CD99 siRNA is not currently a clinical-stage therapeutic and is primarily available through life science reagent suppliers like Abbexa.
