CD99-targeted genetically modified autologous T-cell immunotherapy (also known as BRD-11) is an investigational autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy developed by Wuhan Bioradar Biotechnology. The therapy involves the genetic modification of a patient's own T cells to express a CAR that specifically targets CD99 (also known as MIC2), a cell surface glycoprotein that is highly and consistently expressed in Ewing sarcoma and other mesenchymal tumors. Upon re-infusion into the patient, these engineered T cells recognize and bind to CD99-expressing tumor cells, triggering T-cell activation, expansion, and targeted cytotoxicity. BRD-11 is currently being evaluated in a Phase I/II clinical trial in China for the treatment of relapsed or refractory CD99-positive bone and soft tissue sarcomas, including Ewing sarcoma, rhabdomyosarcoma, and osteosarcoma.
