CDK6 siRNA is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to silence the expression of Cyclin-dependent kinase 6 (CDK6) through the RNA interference (RNAi) pathway. CDK6 is a critical regulator of the G1 to S phase transition in the cell cycle and has been implicated in the maintenance of cancer stem cell (CSC) populations. In preclinical models of endometrial cancer, the use of CDK6 siRNA has been shown to significantly reduce cell proliferation, migration, and tumorsphere formation, while also downregulating stemness-related transcription factors such as OCT4, NANOG, and c-MYC. This modality is primarily utilized as a research tool to investigate the therapeutic potential of CDK6 inhibition in various malignancies.
