Overview

CDL2200 (INT-235) is an engineered endolysin-based biological drug candidate developed by iNtRON Biotechnology using its proprietary itLysin® platform. It is specifically designed for the decolonization and treatment of Clostridioides difficile infection (CDI). The drug is formulated as an oral enteric colon-targeted capsule, which is the first of its kind for an endolysin therapeutic. CDL2200 works by rapidly lysing C. difficile bacteria in the intestine through a bactericidal mechanism that targets the bacterial cell wall. Preclinical studies indicate that it is effective against a wide range of clinical isolates, including those resistant to standard antibiotics like vancomycin and metronidazole, without disrupting the host's normal gut microbiota.
