Overview

CDP-1050 is a small molecule therapeutic developed by Cordex Pharma (formerly Duska Therapeutics) for the treatment of heart failure. It primarily targets the ryanodine receptor (RyR), which is the main ion channel in the heart responsible for the calcium release necessary for myocardial contraction. The compound possesses a dual mechanism of action aimed at correcting redox-nitric oxide imbalance: it inhibits the production of excessive reactive oxygen radicals and restores nitric oxide to physiological levels. By stabilizing the ryanodine receptor and improving myocardial contractile efficiency, CDP-1050 aims to address key factors in heart failure progression. Phase I clinical studies for the drug have been completed in the United States.
