Overview

CDRIP is a first-in-class polyclonal antibody-based immunotherapy developed by ImmuniMed for the prevention of recurrent Clostridioides difficile infection (CDI). Unlike traditional treatments that primarily target toxins, CDRIP specifically targets C. difficile spores, which are responsible for disease recurrence after antibiotic treatment. The product consists of avian-derived polyclonal antibodies (IgY) extracted from the eggs of hens immunized with C. difficile antigens. These antibodies are administered orally to neutralize the spores within the gastrointestinal tract, preventing them from germinating and causing a new infection. This biologic approach is designed to provide a protective barrier in the gut to break the cycle of CDI recurrence.
