Overview

**CDX-2401**, also called **DCVax-001**, is an investigational dendritic-cell-targeted recombinant HIV vaccine developed by Rockefeller University with research and development support from Celldex. It is a single fusion protein comprising a human anti-DEC-205 monoclonal antibody linked to the HIV Gag p24 antigen. By binding DEC-205 on dendritic cells, the vaccine directs p24 antigen into endocytic antigen-processing pathways to promote MHC class I and class II presentation and induce HIV-specific CD8-positive and CD4-positive T-cell responses. It was evaluated with the TLR3 agonist adjuvant poly-ICLC in completed Phase 1 studies in healthy HIV-uninfected volunteers.
