Overview

CDX-7108 is an **orally-administered, engineered lipase variant** being developed to treat **exocrine pancreatic insufficiency (EPI)**, a condition often resulting from diseases such as pancreatitis, pancreatic cancer, Crohn’s disease, celiac disease, and cystic fibrosis. CDX-7108 is specifically designed to address the limitations of traditional pancreatic enzyme replacement therapy (PERT) by exhibiting **enhanced stability in acidic gastric environments** and **resistance to proteolytic degradation in the upper intestine**. The drug aims to improve the digestion and absorption of fats. Interim Phase 1 trial data showed improved lipid absorption in EPI patients without notable safety issues. Clinical development is led through a partnership between Codexis and Nestlé Health Science, with Aimmune Therapeutics also mentioned as a co-developer or subsidiary involved[1][2][3][4][5][6][9][10].
