Overview

CDX0239 is a humanized monoclonal antibody targeting the anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) protein, primarily developed by researchers at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). It is designed to be used as the targeting component of an antibody-drug conjugate (ADC), specifically CDX0239-PBD, which utilizes a pyrrolobenzodiazepine (PBD) dimer chemotherapy payload. The drug selectively binds to ALK expressed on the surface of cancer cells, facilitating the internal delivery of the cytotoxic payload to induce cell death while minimizing off-target effects on healthy tissue. CDX0239-PBD has shown preclinical efficacy in models of neuroblastoma, rhabdomyosarcoma, and colorectal carcinoma, and is positioned as a potential first-in-class ALK-directed ADC for both pediatric and adult malignancies.
