CE120 is a broad-spectrum therapeutic cancer nanovaccine developed by Cello Therapeutics. It is based on a biomimetic drug delivery platform that uses polymeric nanoparticles coated with enriched platelet cell membranes to carry a potent immunotherapy drug. This design leverages the natural biological functions of platelets for targeted delivery and prolonged retention within tumor tissues after local administration. The gradual release of the immunotherapy agent from these nanoparticles triggers an anti-tumor immune response, aiming to eliminate tumors and potentially induce long-term cancer immunity. CE120 addresses challenges such as poor therapeutic outcomes, safety concerns, and side effects associated with excessive systemic exposure in traditional therapies. As of late 2023, it received IND clearance from the FDA for first-in-human clinical trials targeting various solid tumors[1][3].
