Overview

A peptide-based cancer vaccine consisting of three tumor-associated antigen (TAA) peptides: CEA (carcinoembryonic antigen), ErbB2 (also known as HER2/neu), and MUC1 (mucin 1). This combination vaccine is designed to induce specific immune responses against cancer cells expressing these antigens. The vaccine works by stimulating CD8+ T cells and natural killer (NK) cells to recognize and kill cancer cells. The MUC1 peptide is included in all formulations of this vaccine, while CEA and ErbB2 peptides may be added based on immunohistochemical staining of the patient's tumor. This approach represents a consolidation treatment strategy for patients with breast and ovarian cancers who have completed standard treatments and are in clinical disease remission.
