CEA66 DNA is a plasmid DNA vaccine encoding a truncated form of the human carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) fused to a T-helper epitope. It is designed as an immunotherapy for colorectal cancer and other CEA-expressing tumors. The vaccine aims to induce an immune response against tumor cells by presenting the CEA antigen, thereby stimulating cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) activity and antibody production targeting cancer cells that overexpress CEA. In preclinical models, priming with CEA66 DNA has been shown to elicit strong cellular immune responses, especially when used in heterologous prime/boost regimens. In clinical studies, administration of the vaccine was well tolerated with no severe adverse events reported[4][7][9]. The primary indication investigated has been colorectal cancer.
