CEACAM6-800 is a tumor-targeted fluorescent molecular imaging agent developed by the Moffitt Cancer Center for intraoperative margin assessment during fluorescence-guided surgery (FGS) in breast cancer. It consists of a humanized carcinoembryonic cell adhesion molecule 6 (CEACAM6)-specific single-chain variable fragment-Fc (scFv-Fc [IgG4]) antibody fragment conjugated to the near-infrared fluorescent dye IRDye800CW via an NHS-ester linkage. By binding specifically to CEACAM6, which is highly expressed on the surface of breast tumor cells but absent in normal breast tissue, CEACAM6-800 enables real-time visualization of tumor margins and residual disease during lumpectomy, potentially reducing the rate of reoperation.
