Cecolin 9 is a second-generation nonavalent human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine developed using a recombinant *Escherichia coli* (E. coli) expression system. It is designed to provide protection against nine HPV types: 6, 11, 16, 18, 31, 33, 45, 52, and 58. The vaccine is composed of L1 virus-like particles (VLPs) that mimic the structure of the virus to induce high titers of neutralizing antibodies. Developed by Xiamen Innovax Biotech, Cecolin 9 aims to increase global accessibility to high-valent HPV vaccinations, particularly in low- and middle-income countries, by providing a cost-effective alternative to existing nonavalent vaccines like Gardasil 9. Clinical trials have demonstrated its non-inferior immunogenicity and favorable safety profile compared to established 9-valent vaccines.
