Cefman

Cefman is a branded generic version of cefixime, an oral third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic developed and marketed by Dyson Research Laboratories. As a small molecule antibiotic, it functions by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis through the binding and inactivation of penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs). This inhibition disrupts the final transpeptidation step of peptidoglycan synthesis, leading to the weakening of the bacterial cell wall and subsequent osmotic lysis. Cefman is indicated for the treatment of various susceptible Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacterial infections, including respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, otitis media, pharyngitis, and uncomplicated gonorrhea. It is available in multiple oral formulations such as tablets, capsules, and suspensions.
