Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination of two medications: **Cefmetazole sodium** is a semisynthetic cephamycin antibiotic with a broad spectrum of activity comparable to second-generation cephalosporins. It is effective against gram-positive, gram-negative, and anaerobic bacteria, including beta-lactamase-producing organisms. Its bactericidal activity results from inhibition of cell wall synthesis via affinity for penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs). It has no appreciable metabolism and a half-life of approximately 1.5 hours. **Prednisolone** is a corticosteroid used to treat various inflammatory, autoimmune, and hormonal conditions. It works by suppressing the immune response and reducing inflammation. It changes how the body uses sugar, fat, and protein, and reduces inflammatory responses.
