ceftriaxone

Rocerex is a branded generic version of ceftriaxone, a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic developed and marketed by Biorex Pharmaceuticals. It exerts its bactericidal effect by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis through binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), which prevents the cross-linking of peptidoglycan chains. Ceftriaxone is characterized by a broad spectrum of activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria and is notably resistant to many beta-lactamases. It is commonly used for the treatment of serious infections, including lower respiratory tract infections, acute bacterial otitis media, skin and skin structure infections, urinary tract infections, uncomplicated gonorrhea, pelvic inflammatory disease, bacterial sepsis, intra-abdominal infections, and meningitis.
