Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination antibiotic therapy consisting of ceftriaxone (a third-generation cephalosporin) and oxacillin (a penicillinase-resistant penicillin). This combination is used primarily for treating bacterial infections, particularly those caused by methicillin-sensitive Staphylococcus aureus (MSSA). Ceftriaxone offers the advantage of once-daily dosing with a good safety profile, while oxacillin provides targeted activity against penicillinase-producing staphylococci.
