Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination of celecoxib, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that selectively inhibits cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), and cholecalciferol (vitamin D3). Celecoxib is used to treat pain and inflammation in conditions like osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Cholecalciferol is used to treat vitamin D deficiency. Research suggests this combination may have synergistic effects in certain conditions, with studies showing enhanced anti-cancer effects in breast cancer cell lines and potential for vitamin D to ameliorate celecoxib-induced cardiotoxicity.
