Overview

Cell-free autologous fat extract (FE) is a bioactive liquid derived from a patient's own adipose tissue through mechanical emulsification and centrifugation. The process is designed to remove all cellular components, including adipocytes and stem cells, while concentrating a rich array of endogenous growth factors such as vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF), and transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β). These components facilitate tissue regeneration by promoting angiogenesis, stimulating fibroblast proliferation, and modulating the extracellular matrix. FE is primarily investigated for the treatment of atrophic scars and skin rejuvenation, often administered via local injection to improve skin texture and volume, sometimes in combination with hyaluronic acid.
