Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Cell-free fat extract (CEFFE) is a novel therapeutic agent derived from liposuction waste. It is the liquid fraction isolated mechanically from fat tissue after removing cell components, lipid residues, oil droplets, cell fragments, and extracellular matrix. CEFFE contains various growth factors and cytokines similar to stem cell paracrine factors, including vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), insulin-like growth factor (IGF), hepatocyte growth factor (HGF), brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β), basic fibroblast growth factor (b-FGF), platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), epidermal growth factor (EGF), and neurotrophic factor (NT-3). These components promote tissue regeneration, neovascularization, and have anti-inflammatory effects.
