Overview

Cellegesic is a topical formulation of nitroglycerin (also known as glyceryl trinitrate) used primarily for the treatment of pain associated with chronic anal fissures. Nitroglycerin acts as a vasodilator by releasing nitric oxide, which relaxes smooth muscle in blood vessels and increases blood flow to the affected area.
