Overview

Cellgram-DC-WT1 is an autologous dendritic cell-based immunotherapy developed by Pharmicell. It consists of a patient's own dendritic cells that are harvested, matured, and pulsed with Wilms' Tumor 1 (WT1) antigens. WT1 is a zinc-finger transcription factor that is highly overexpressed in various hematological malignancies and solid tumors but has limited expression in normal adult tissues, making it an ideal target for cancer vaccines. Once re-infused into the patient, these antigen-presenting cells migrate to the lymph nodes where they activate and expand WT1-specific CD8+ cytotoxic T lymphocytes and CD4+ helper T cells. This coordinated immune response is designed to identify and eliminate residual cancer cells, particularly in the context of preventing relapse in patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML).
