Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Cellular Matrix-BCT-HA is a specialized medical device developed by Regen Lab designed for the point-of-care preparation of a synergistic combination of autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and non-crosslinked hyaluronic acid (HA). The system utilizes a proprietary vacuum tube containing a thixotropic separator gel and a sodium citrate anticoagulant, pre-filled with 2ml of hyaluronic acid. Upon centrifugation of the patient's blood within the tube, the separator gel isolates the platelets and plasma from red blood cells, allowing the PRP to mix directly with the HA. The resulting injectable solution combines the regenerative potential of PRP—which releases essential growth factors like PDGF, TGF-β, and VEGF to stimulate tissue repair and collagen production—with the immediate hydrating and viscoelastic properties of HA. While widely used in orthopedics for osteoarthritis and in aesthetic medicine for skin rejuvenation, it is currently being investigated by institutions such as the Santiago Dexeus Font Fundacio Privada for the treatment of genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM), where it aims to restore vaginal mucosal health and alleviate symptoms of atrophy.
