Celtis occidentalis pollen

Celtis occidentalis pollen is a non-standardized, allergenic extract derived from the pollen of the common hackberry tree (Celtis occidentalis). [13] It is manufactured and marketed by Jubilant HollisterStier LLC under the brand name 'Pollens - Trees, Hackberry Celtis Occidentalis'. [3, 16] The product was first approved in the United States in 1941 and is used for both the diagnosis (via percutaneous skin testing) and treatment (via subcutaneous immunotherapy) of allergic conditions such as hay fever or rhinitis caused by sensitivity to hackberry pollen. [5, 8] While effective for sensitized individuals, hackberry pollen is generally considered to be less allergenic compared to other tree pollens. [13]
