Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CELZ-001 is an autologous cell-based immunotherapy developed by Creative Medical Technology Holdings for the treatment of late-stage Type 2 Diabetes. The therapeutic approach involves extracting a patient's own immune cells, modifying them ex vivo, and reinfusing them into the patient to improve metabolic control and reduce insulin dependence. In a clinical study involving 30 participants, CELZ-001 demonstrated significant efficacy, with 93% of treated patients achieving at least a 50% reduction in insulin requirements at a one-year follow-up. The treatment has shown a favorable safety profile with no serious adverse effects reported. The infusion procedure utilized for CELZ-001 is consistent with the company's other regenerative immunotherapy programs, such as CELZ-201 for Type 1 Diabetes.
