CELZ-201 is an allogeneic cell therapy candidate developed by Creative Medical Technology Holdings, derived from perinatal tissue stem cells. The therapy utilizes multi-potential stem cells characterized by self-renewal capabilities and low antigenicity. It is currently being evaluated in clinical trials for two primary indications: Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) and chronic lower back pain associated with degenerative disc disease. For T1D, the cells are administered via intra-arterial infusion into the dorsal artery of the pancreas to promote immunomodulation and potentially preserve beta-cell function. For lower back pain, the product (often referred to as CELZ-201-DDT) is delivered via paraspinal intramuscular injection to address inflammation and disc degeneration.
