A **combination therapy** of cemiplimab, a fully human monoclonal antibody targeting programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1), and GM-CSF (granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor), an immunostimulatory cytokine. Cemiplimab acts as an immune checkpoint inhibitor by blocking PD-1, thereby enhancing T-cell–mediated anti-tumor immunity. GM-CSF is involved in stimulating proliferation and differentiation of myeloid lineage cells—such as dendritic cells, macrophages, and neutrophils—and potentiates antigen presentation and immune activation in the tumor microenvironment. This combination is being evaluated in clinical trials in advanced or refractory solid tumors, including head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, to enhance anti-tumor immune responses. GM-CSF is also commonly used to promote recovery of white blood cells after chemotherapy, but in this context it is used for immunomodulation as part of anti-cancer therapy[1][3][2].
