Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Cemivameran (Pfizer mRNA COVID-19 vaccine, 2024-2025 Formula) is an mRNA-based vaccine co-developed by Pfizer and BioNTech to prevent COVID-19 caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. It consists of a nucleoside-modified messenger RNA (modRNA) formulated in lipid nanoparticles (LNPs). The mRNA encodes the prefusion-stabilized spike (S) protein of the SARS-CoV-2 Omicron KP.2 variant. Upon intramuscular administration, host cells translate the mRNA to transiently express the KP.2 spike antigen, which stimulates neutralizing antibody production and cellular immune responses. The vaccine is marketed under the brand name Comirnaty KP.2 for individuals aged 12 years and older, and is available under Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) as the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine (2024-2025 Formula) for younger pediatric populations.
