Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Centellase is a standardized pharmaceutical and cosmetic product line developed by Laboratorio Farmaceutico SIT, based on the total triterpenic fraction of *Centella asiatica*. The active ingredient typically consists of a standardized mixture of asiaticoside (40%) and asiatic acid, which acts by stimulating fibroblasts to increase the synthesis of collagen and fibronectin in the venous wall and perivascular connective tissue. This mechanism improves vascular tone, enhances elasticity, and reduces capillary permeability. Centellase is available in oral tablet formulations (30 mg) indicated for the treatment of symptoms related to chronic venous insufficiency and capillary fragility. It is also marketed in topical formulations, such as Centellase Vital Gambe cream-gel, which are used for dermatological repair, wound healing support, and the alleviation of leg heaviness and swelling.
