CEP1507 is a novel drug candidate developed by Celprogen, Inc., specifically designed to target and inhibit circulating tumor cells (CTCs) in advanced-stage pancreatic cancer. CTCs are critical drivers of metastasis, and CEP1507 targets cells expressing a specific profile of markers, including CK19, CEA, CA19-9, and EpCAM. In preclinical studies, CEP1507 has demonstrated the ability to significantly reduce the engraftment of human pancreatic cancer CTCs in vivo, particularly when used in combination with the standard chemotherapy agent gemcitabine. This therapeutic approach aims to disrupt the metastatic cascade and enhance the overall efficacy of treatment for locally advanced and metastatic pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma.
