Overview

Cephalanoploris Herba is a traditional Chinese medicinal herb derived from the dried aerial parts of *Cephalanoplos segetum* (also known as *Cirsium setosum*). It is widely recognized for its hemostatic, anti-inflammatory, and detoxifying properties. In clinical practice, it is primarily used to treat various bleeding disorders, including hematemesis, epistaxis, hematuria, and functional uterine bleeding, by "cooling the blood" and promoting coagulation. It also possesses the ability to resolve blood stasis and reduce swelling, making it effective for treating traumatic injuries, carbuncles, and skin infections. The pharmacological effects are attributed to its diverse chemical constituents, including flavonoids like linarin, phenolic acids, and alkaloids.
